AUSTIN—The Texas Association of Bank Counsel (TABC) has elected Stan McCormick president of the organization.McCormick is Corporate Counsel and Secretary of Frost Bank and its parent company, Cullen/Frost Bankers, Inc. A native of Houston, he earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business and a doctor of jurisprudence from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. He joined Frost in 1989 after a career in private law practice in Washington, D.C. and commercial real estate.
Also elected were Roger Key of Key & Terrell, LLP, President- Elect; John Podvin, Jr., Haynes and Boone, LLP, Vice President; John Heasley, Texas Bankers Association, Secretary/Treasurer; Donald Wood, Sutherland, Immediate Past President; and a slate of 16 Directors and two Advisory Directors.
Founded in 1976, TABC is the foremost association serving bank lawyers and lawyers who represent financial institutions, with a goal of keeping them current with developments in the laws and regulations affecting financial institutions. With 638 members in 113 cities in Texas and other states, TABC is an independent nonprofit organization.
